B. Skincare – Budget Solution for Oily Skin in Winter

I decided to write about B. skincare that is exclusive to Superdrug, as I have been using this range for over a month and I want to share my thoughts about it. This is not a sponsored feature and I bought all of the products for my own money when they were on half price or buy one get one free offer (which is quite often).

If you follow my blog, you might have noticed that if possible, I like buying the whole range and if you are a person that is on a budget, that might be quite difficult with higher end skincare even with all those Black Friday offers as I do believe that individual items in the range should cooperate to give you the best possible result (but I am not saying that it always happens). Superdrug is one of my go to beauty shopping destination and I liked most of the products I bought from their own ranges. As with all Superdrug’s products, B. is international cruelty free and suitable for vegeterians and vegans.

Because I am 35 I am looking for some anti-ageing action but too rich as I have oily skin with more or less occasional breakouts, large pores and somehow managed blackheads on my nose with some discolouration after breakouts and blemishes so as for moisturisers, I decided for stage 1 offering with some products aimed at my skin problems. I didn’t buy all the product I need for my whole skincare regime, as I have quite a lot of other products I need to use up (I am trying to apply first in first out method in using up my stash) so I decided to buy products that I needed in my routine.

Cleansing

B. Revealed Cleansing Peel (not in the picture) promises to improve your complexion with Glycolic Acid exfoliant and polishing musling cloth. I use this creamy peel as a first cleanser for my face twice a week. Works well for me and my face is nice and smooth to the touch after using it.

B. Refined Exfoliating Cleanser (not in the picture) for normal to oily skin claims to gently polish the skin surface to reveal a smooth, bright complexion. It is creamy dual-action exfoliator containing salicylic acid to remove impurities and to unblock pores and microbeads. I like it because it still feels gentle yet effective. I use it twice a week in the morning.

B. Pure Micellar Water is 3 in 1 water that cleanses, tones and refreshes (it contains cucumber juice extract). I am not gonna lie, I had a better micellar water so as a micellar waters go, this is a better average, but it doesn’t sting my eyes unless I soak too much product in cotton wool. However I like it as a morning toner a lot.

Moisturise

Hyaluronic Acid Facial Spritz and B. Refreshed Essence Lotion are not moisturisers in the right meaning of the word but they are adding extra bit of moisture into my skin in between toner and serum/moisturiser because they both contain hyaluronic acid. I tried to use the facial spritz in the summer but it made my skin shiny more quickly but now in winter when my skin is almost normal, it helped keeping my skin plump and moisturised. Essence lotion also contains allantoin to soothe and protect the skin and algae extract to aid softening and smoothing action. The only thing that bothers me a bit here is the fragrance that is rather perfumy for a skincare but other people praised the fragrance in their reviews so that is probably just personal preference. For me, they are the stars of this post and this range.

B. Ready Day Cream with SPF15 is kind of standard day moisturiser with hyaluronic acid that is nourishing but still light enough for my skin not to feel greasy nor causing me more breakouts as it contains niacinamide to control blemishes. Glycofilm that this cream creates should also shield your skin against environmental damage.

B. Nourished Night Serum is called serum but it is more like a light moisturiser. Again this has some hyaluronic acid in it with niacinamide for radiance and blemish control. As it is winter and this is light, I still add either night cream or facial oil or both.

Targeted Treatment

B. Even Skintone Corrector claims to help fade away dark spots, age spots and blemish marks for a noticeable more even skintone. It contains concentrated Vitamin C to gradually fade dark spots and pigmentation with 4 weeks of continuous use and hyaluronic acid to moisturise and plump the skin. Hyaluronic acid is always welcome in my regime so it is a no brainer but as for the skintone correcting claim, I have to say that I was using it morning and evening  after moisturiser for 4 weeks (that is exactly when it finished) for my whole face and unfortunately, I didn’t notice any change to my dark spots, so I cannot recommend this product.

B. Treated Blemish Gel  has a high level of salicylic acid and witch hazel and promises fast action promising visible results in just 2 hours but in reality is just like any other blemish gel but it still helps to keep angry breakouts in bay.

So that’s it. I can’t guarantee results would be the same with your skin or that the products work that well on their own, but the whole range together makes my skin very happy at the moment and I love how smooth my skin is at the moment and I am looking forward to trying more B. skincare products (after I shop all the stash I got in Black Friday deals).
